This park was not exactly 'roughing it'.
All the trails were paved in concrete.

There were homes scattered in among the trees on the distant hills. This formation was darker and rougher than most of the others. Here you can see the redder sandstone next to it. Now we have gone to Seven Falls. - Note the long stairway that climbs up among them. This sign told us the property owners had named - some of the falls after themselves.
Between us note the stairway going up by the falls across the canyon. We stopped and rested a lot as we climbed the stairway. - We weren't used to the 7000 foot elevation! The stairs got less steep and had shorter sections near the top. The view from the top of the trail. - We could see Colorado Springs below us. Time to head back down.
This is the Royal Gorge bridge near Canon City, Colorado. - Note the rail line by the river at the bottom. We did not pay the ridiculous price of $14 - to walk on the bridge since we have a much bigger bridge - at home which we can walk on for free. People went by on rafts - running down the river! We've reached the Continental Divide! In western Colorado we saw the most beautiful rainbow - either of us have ever seen!
