We begin a drive south along Lake Wakatipu

This is the southernmost point of our trip, where we turn off - Highway 6 into Kingston at the southern tip of Lake Wakatipu. - This is the farthest south either of us have ever been. The Kingston Flyer, a steam locomotive - used for daily trips through the mountains A view of the steam locomotive - and the cars used for the daily trips Wednesday, December 18 - We visit Arrowtown, a restored mining town Bill next to some of the restored buildings
A pretty park in Arrowtown Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus... We head north on Highway 6 passing several - beautiful lakes like this one, Lake Hawea And this one, Lake Wanaka The scenery was fantastic!
We stopped many times to observe the views We saw streams falling down the mountainsides... We crisscrossed the river several times - as we wound our way down the canyon We saw beautiful water falls... ...splashing into the clear running river
