Thursday, August 11 -- We head north from York on the way to Scotland.
Here is a view from the coach as we cross the River Ure.

 
Our first stop is at Hadrian's Wall from Roman times, 2000 years ago.
We drive north through the English countryside as the rain continues to fall. We enter Scotland! A bagpiper welcomes us, and of course, wants a donation for his playing. The ruins of an old abbey in Jedburgh, Scotland
We arrive at Abbotsford House, the home of Sir Walter Scott, for a tour. An old railroad bridge We enter the city of Edinburgh
