ANALOG STATIONS ON THE AIR
AFTER DIGITAL TRANSITION 6/12/2009

San Francisco Bay Area
(within 100 miles of San Francisco)

Low powered analog stations and translator stations are allowed to remain on the air after June 12, 2009.   The FCC has not yet ruled on a digital deadline for these stations.  After June 12, the only analog signals available will be from lower power stations and translator stations.  The TV band now includes only channels 2 through 51.  The frequencies above channel 51 have been auctioned off for public service, cell phone and other services.  Lower power and translator stations on channels above 51 are allowed to continue operating until the service who bought the channel tells them they have to turn off their transmitter.

The list below shows the status of the low power stations and translators that remain on the air in this area after the transition.

NOTES:
1 - Channel number shown in green indicates that station has changed from analog to digital.
2 - Channel number shown in purple indicates that station has applied for digital operation on the same channel.
3 - Channel number shown in blue indicates that station has applied for digital operation on a different channel, shown as --> x
4 - Channel numbers shown in red indicates that both the analog and the digital transmitters are on the air.

See the Digital Channel Listing for complete details on the digital stations.
