June 18: We're in Clarkston, Washington, headed for Lewiston, Idaho.

NEXT
We cross the Snake River and enter Lewiston, Idaho. U.S. Route 12 follows a beautiful canyon along the Potlatch River through the Nez Perce Indian Reservation. Bill had just bought this bandanna at a gas station and it happened to match his shirt.
As we continue on the Lewis and Clark Highway we follow the Lochsa River through the Clearwater National Forest. We've climbed to 6,236 feet at Lolo Pass, the state line between Idaho and Montana. Bill talks to a couple of bicycle riders from Arizona who are on a two month ride through the Northwest. We leave the parking lot of the Visitors Center, turn east and enter Montana. Some interesting rock formations. Note the climbers at the top of the rocks.
The rolling countryside near Missoula, Montana It's the Rocky Mountains, seen from a vista point on U.S. Route 93 north of Missoula. Another view at the vista point with Bill out checking out the boulders along the trail. More of the Montana Rockies
