Overlooking Mono Lake from Conway Summit

NEXT
The road to Mono Lake wasn't plowed. Looking west at the Sierras from south of Mono Lake On CA Route 120 south of Mono Lake Near the entrance to the Bristle Cone Pine Forest off CA Route 168 March 17 - After spending the night in Beatty, Nevada, we head for Death Valley. - That's 11,049 foot Telescope Peak in the distance.
Our first view of the wildflowers. We see Death Valley ahead of us. We stop frequently to get a close look at the wildflowers. Even the bushes are flowering!
Note how small these flowers are compared to Bill's shoe. Look closely behind Bill and you'll see thousands of small purple flowers. Larry gets down for a closer look.
