May 18-We arrive at the Vancouver airport and end up in a long line waiting to go
through Immigration. Several large flights from Asia had arrived just before us.

We finally got to our hotel, seen here in the distance under the tree, - got checked in, and then went for a walk in nearby Stanley Park. Walking through the park we came upon a beautiful Rododendron garden. We'd never seen such a wide variety of colors.
These flowers and palm trees were found near the entrance to Stanley Park near Denman Avenue. A full sized tree is growing on the rooftop patio of an apartment building.
On Saturday, May 19, we took a walk into downtown Vancouver. We came across the construction of the new subway between downtown - Vancouver and the airport. This is the first of two tunnel bores for the trains. We stopped at a cupcake shop for a snack. Lick your moustache, Bill!
