Approaching Reno, Nevada, we see a few clouds over the city Virginia Street, the main street of Reno The Silver Legacy Resort where we had a room reservation Friday, April 2 - We take a drive south of Reno to Virginia City. - Here's the view you see as you climb out of the valley. Looking west toward the Sierra.  The bridge you see is for the new U.S. 395 freeway that's under construction.
Downtown Virginia City, which had a population of over 10,000 when the silver mines were in full swing. It was windy and cold with a little blowing snow while we were there.
