These are the pulley supports that hold the cables for the elevator
that drops you 2,500 feet down to the level of the mine.

A mine train then takes you 3/4 mile through a dark tunnel into the mine shaft - to where the ore was removed. This is a wideshot showing the inside of the mine. A close up of some of the unmined ore still in the mine. June 25: We are now passing by the TV towers for Duluth, Minnesota, where the wild flowers were quite abundant. This is the bridge between Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin over St. Louis Bay at the west end of Lake Superior. We're about to cross the bridge to Wisconsin.
A U.S. Visitors Center and Park where we got to see a showing of a live hawk by a ranger. This interesting structure was located on the shore of Lake Superior in Marquette. - It's old railroad ore dock that was used for loading iron ore into a boat docked below. June 26: Bill's enjoying the cool water of Lake Michigan. This is a view of the lake side park where we stopped to swim. We're headed across the Mackinac Bridge that connects upper and lower Michigan. June 28: Near Kewadin, Michigan we found this stone marker.  It has stones from every county in Michigan. The falls at the town of Leland where we went to dinner with family friends.
