John and John welcomed us with a big breakfast.
Here we are with John Litrenta.

The main room of their house has large south-facing windows - so the room is very bright. We intended our first day to be one of relaxation - after nine days on the road. - Bill is following the plan! On the morning of our first day traveling with John and John - we come to the Mackinac Bridge which - connects the two peninsulas of Michigan. We take a break to check out the bridge. - We still haven't crossed it; this is taken from the south side. It was 90 degrees out, so we didn't feel like getting - very close to each other for these photos!
Could John be telling us why people - on that side call people on this side 'trolls'? - (Because they live under the bridge!) Crossing the Mackinac Bridge going north. - (They pronounce it Mackinaw, by the way.) Two things you gotta eat if you go to - the Upper Peninsula are smoked fish and pasties. - We first stopped at a country store to attack this fish. We sat on the back stoop of the store and devoured the fish - clawing it apart with our fingers! At HOG Island? - Three happy longhair hogs.
In late afternoon we got a campsite near Lake Superior. - John S. plunged in! It was COLD! Bill had a cut on his foot so he couldn't go in. - He really wanted to! So he put his hand in instead. The next morning we headed for Pictured Rocks National Park. One nice thing about vacationing with friends - is we get photos that have us both in them. There's John S., pointing again!
