The Utah state capitol building. We did not go up there on this trip.
We've seen it before, and compared to the temple grounds, it is not at all impressive.

We weren't sure what this was, but it looked like something you'd expect to see in Germany. City Creek Mall. Most of the activity we saw downtown was at this huge shopping center. - It had all the stores we find in our downtown shopping areas here in California. Driving through the outskirts of Salt Lake City, we view the mountains we will soon be driving up into.
We are now on I-80 heading east. Traffic came to a near stand-still. An hour later we would pass a large truck - that had caught fire and had since been pulled to the side of the road.
Free at last! We head for Wyoming on I-80. In Utah - we had seen no markings for the Lincoln Highway at all. - The highway meant little to the state, we suppose, because - half of it was in uninhabited sage brush areas and - half of it was on urban streets or buried underneath I-80. Note the lack of billboards. Bill told Larry this would change at the Wyoming state line.
