This is the KLM 747-400 that took me over Canada, Greenland
and Iceland and then across the north Atlantic to Amsterdam.

Gate A8 is where I departed for my 10-1/2 hour flight. Wednesday, July 29 - Amsterdam Centraal Station where I arrived by train from Schiphol Airport. My hotel in Amsterdam, the Hilton Double Tree, was just a block south of the train station. The great view from my room showed Amsterdam Harbor and lots of train and boat action. All of the hotel rooms had Apple I-Mac computers which served as both - computer and TV. I had fast Internet access on the big screen computer.
From in front of my hotel you look south to see the Library, - Nemo Science Center and a huge Chinese restaurant. The Amrath Hotel with a variety of flags flying. I only recognized the Amsterdam flag - with the 3 x's and the Netherlands flag with the red, while and blue stripes. Amsterdam canal with Neiuw Markt at the end We head over to the Damrak, the main street that runs from Centraal Station - to Dam Square.  As you can see, there are lots of people on the streets here! One of the GVB trams that provide transportation across the city.
