We've climbed to the high meadows at about 8,000 feet above sea level The road goes through open range area... watch out for the cows! Thunderstorms are building to the west of us Wild flowers seen along the highway Flaming Gorge Reservoir near the Utah-Wyoming state line
Friendly chipmunk spotted along the ridge trail As we headed back south, storm clouds continued to build and - we ended up going through heavy rain for about 15 minutes. The storm clouds cleared and we got bright sunshine again. - This is a narrow canyon formed over the years by a small creek.
The view seen as we descend from the high meadows We're back on U.S. 40 headed east toward Colorado We cross the state line into Colorado This is the area we just traveled through in Utah, now behind us
