The Royal Citadel built in 1665.  It was the most important English - defense for over 100 years with its 70 foot high walls. Across Plymouth Sound we see an old castle tower on the hilltop Wednesday, August 24 -- We awake to partly cloudy skies, which is - good, since we're going for a boat ride around Plymouth. This is an island out in Plymouth Sound Plymouth Marina Three look-alike apartment buildings high on a hill The entrance to the Naval Base Davenport The captain tells us what's in view as we continue into the harbor
