There is also a lighthouse overlooking Plymouth Sound Below the park on the sound is an open fresh water public pool The Royal Citadel built in 1665.  It was the most important English - defense for over 100 years with its 70 foot high walls. Across Plymouth Sound we see an old castle tower on the hilltop
Wednesday, August 24 -- We awake to partly cloudy skies, which is - good, since we're going for a boat ride around Plymouth. Our boat awaits us All aboard! Just after we set sail we pass the Mayflower Steps we saw yesterday. We pass by the Royal Citadel
We get a nice view of Hoe Park with the lighthouse, memorial statue and ferris wheel The HR Constitution anchored in Plymouth harbor This is an island out in Plymouth Sound Plymouth Marina Three look-alike apartment buildings high on a hill
