Haagen-Dazs ice cream! Much to our disappointment the place was closed. We found
that most places in Ireland have just soft serve ice cream, not the real stuff.

The city of Killarney is decorated with flowers all over. After leaving Killarney, we stop at The Shanty, an off the beaten path - Irish pub where we enjoyed complimentary drinks and Irish music. Some of the group joined in the dancing. Even Bill joined the line dance!
We arrive at our hotel, the Carlton in Tralee, where we find the annual Rose Festival being held. Next door is Fossett's Circus, so there is plenty of action in town. - We enjoyed a spectacular fireworks show after sundown. Sunday, August 21 -- Our first stop of the day is at Blarney Castle, home of the Blarney Stone. A view of the Blarney Castle in the distance We walked toward the castle and began our climb up the hill.
The castle entrance We begin our climb to the top of the castle where the Blarney Stone is located Most of the climb is by a circular stairway. Here is Tina following us up the stairs.
