Winter and Spring meet We spot a waterfall flowing from the rocks. We're nearing the top of our climb.
We find a pretty meadow with lots of wild flowers. We've reached the top-Sonora Pass.  Here is a little history about the pass.  - Note the elevation shown here, 9,628 feet above sea level. Sonora Pass is the line between Mono County to the east and Tuolumne County - to the west.  For some reason, the California Highway Department indicates the - height above sea level to be four feet lower than the National Forest sign. The view looking east past the sign
